Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Downloora collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, apps, cloud downloads, storage, playback, and subscriptions.

Last updated:

Who we are

Downloora provides cloud downloads, account-based file storage, media processing, playback, and subscription services. In this policy, Downloora, we, us, and our refer to the operator of the Downloora service.

For privacy questions or requests about your personal information, contact [email protected]. General support is available at [email protected].

Information we collect

Account information includes your name, email address, password hash, profile details, account identifiers, and subscription status. If you enable two-factor authentication, we process the authentication secret and hashed recovery codes needed to secure your account.

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the provider identifier and the profile information that provider makes available, such as your name, email address, or profile image.

When you request a download or upload a file, we process the source URL or magnet link, torrent metadata, file contents, filenames, folder structure, thumbnails, media metadata, download progress, and storage usage needed to provide your library.

We process session and device identifiers, activity timestamps, and technical information needed for security and troubleshooting. Requests to our infrastructure can include your IP address, browser or device information, and error details. If you use app notifications, we process the device push token and platform information needed to deliver them. We also process messages and information you send to support.

How we use information and our legal bases

We use your information to create and authenticate your account, retrieve and store content you request, generate previews or compatible media formats, show your library, deliver requested notifications, and manage subscriptions. Where applicable, this processing is necessary to perform our service contract with you.

We also use information to provide support, investigate failures, prevent fraud and abuse, secure the service, and enforce our policies. Where applicable, we rely on legitimate interests for these operational purposes, balanced against your rights, and on legal obligations for processing required by law.

Where consent is required for a particular purpose, we request it separately. You can withdraw that consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Reading this policy or creating an account is not consent to optional tracking or marketing.

Cookies and clipboard access

The website uses the downloora_session cookie to keep you signed in. Google and Apple sign-in use short-lived cookies to validate the sign-in request. These cookies support authentication and account security. You can control cookies through your browser, but blocking required cookies may prevent sign-in from working.

When you click the empty download field, the website may request clipboard access to read a copied link and start the import. Your browser controls whether this is allowed. You can paste or type a link yourself instead.

External sign-in, checkout, and app-store services may use their own cookies or similar technologies under their own privacy policies.

Service providers and information sharing

We share information needed to operate the service with providers supporting hosting, storage, content retrieval and delivery, media processing, authentication, payments, notifications, and support. Authorized operational access may be needed to troubleshoot failures, handle support requests, or investigate abuse; account-based storage does not mean that files are end-to-end encrypted.

Google and Apple process sign-in information when you choose those options. RevenueCat processes the account identifier and purchase information needed to manage subscriptions, and Stripe processes web checkout and payment details. Downloora receives subscription information used to activate your plan; payment-card details are handled by the payment service rather than stored in the Downloora account database. Apple or Google may also process app purchases and push notifications when you use those features.

Retrieving content contacts the source you provide. Torrent retrieval may communicate torrent identifiers with trackers and peers. Source websites, download providers, and network participants may receive information needed to process those requests, such as the requested URL and the download server’s network address.

We may disclose information to comply with legal obligations or valid legal requests, protect users and others, investigate fraud or security incidents, and enforce our agreements. Information may be transferred during a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business, subject to applicable law and any required notice.

International processing

Downloora and its providers may process information outside the country where you live. Data protection laws can differ between countries. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, those requirements apply to the transfer.

Contact [email protected] for information about the locations and transfer safeguards relevant to your use of Downloora.

Retention and deletion

We retain account information and your library while needed to provide your account and requested services. You can delete files from your library, update your profile, and revoke device sessions using the available account controls. To request account deletion or help with deleting personal information, contact [email protected].

Retention depends on the information and its purpose. We may retain records needed to meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, investigate abuse, and maintain security. Deleted information may remain in backups until those backups are rotated or removed; deleting a file does not necessarily erase every backup immediately. Contact us for retention details relevant to a specific request.

Deleting a Downloora account does not by itself cancel a subscription managed by an app store or payment provider. Manage that subscription through the provider that billed you.

Security

We use account authentication, password hashing, access controls, and expiring access links to protect information. No online service can guarantee complete security. Keep your account credentials and any download or playback access links private, and enable two-factor authentication where available.

Report suspected account compromise or security issues to [email protected].

Your privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access or correct your personal information, request deletion or a portable copy, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Send requests to [email protected]. We may verify your identity before disclosing or changing account information. Legal exceptions may limit what we can provide or delete. We will not discriminate against you for exercising rights available under applicable law.

Children’s privacy

Downloora is not directed to children under 13. A higher minimum age may apply under local law. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of this policy, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Third-party services and policy changes

Media sources, sign-in providers, payment services, and app stores have their own privacy policies. Review those policies when you visit or use their services.

We may update this policy as Downloora or its practices change. We will publish the revised policy with an updated date and provide additional notice or request consent when required by law.
